Jean-François Côté
PhD in Chemistry, Director of Standards and Scientific Affairs at SOPREMA
Jean-François Côté holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the Université de Sherbrooke and a PhD from the INSR in Energy and Materials. He joined SOPREMA in 1999 as a Chemist for the R&D department where he developed sealers and adhesives for the construction and civil engineering industries. He was R&D Director for SOPREMA North America from 2001 to 2009. From 2009 to 2015, he was Director of Strategic Development in charge of coordinating the activities of the R&D, Technical and Marketing departments to optimize business growth in North America and part of Asia. In his current role, he represents SOPREMA on technical committees of manufacturing associations (ARMA, PIMA, and SPRI) and is actively engaged in various standards development organizations (CSA, ASTM, and ULC). Recently, he managed the work team creating the new CSA A123.23 Standard on modified bitumen roofing membranes.
